Cornwall Hypnotherapy : Hypnosis Questions & Answers
Questions & Answers
Does hypnosis work?
The British and American medical Associations and others around the world recognise hypnosis as a powerful and successful method of dealing with a wide number of psychological conditions and that it is of therapeutic benefit to many others.
It is a co-operative state, where you are guided by your hypnotherapist, using effective therapeutic techniques, to find the healing resources already in you. Those resources that are able to facilitate the changes that you desire.
The change that you you seek comes from YOU. The hypnotherapist either in person, or on a hypnotherapy self-help CD is your guide. Your success will be equal to your input in your session and the actualisation of the techniques and suggestions given.
Because we are all different and respond to different stimuli, no hypnotist or self help CD can guarantee a cure; as there are always other variables.
As our mind and body responds to different thing, and at different times. Nobody feels or works at their best all the time. One develops and learns these skills through experience. Therefore when you are ready, you become more able to help yourself and find within you the path to your own healing.
What is the difference between a hypnosis self-help CD and a session with an actual hypnotherapist
A hypnotherapy session with a hypnotherapist is carefully tailored specifically to the clients needs, right down to the smallest detail. Your session is adaptable to the issues presented. Because of this it is very effective in the short and long term, however it can be vary expensive.
A self help hypnotherapy CD is far, far cheaper and more cost effective, as it has the added benefit that it can be listened to over and over again. This can be done where ever and when ever you wish, compounding the effectiveness of each audio session; saving a you huge amount of money.
For most normal issues, CD’s can be just as effective and all you need. Having said that, every hypnotherapist is different in their skill set. Also; self help audio manufacturers and producers vary. Therefore many audio CD’s may have not been produced to a high standard and will therefore be less effective.
The quality of the production and content is very important in finding a CD that works for you. However, It doesn’t matter how effective the content is. If you don’t like the hypnotherapists voice/music, you will probably stop using it and not gain any benefit from the session.
If you have tried others self help CD’s before, you will know what we mean. That’s why we provide a no risk, 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee in the unlikely event that your purchase doesn’t fulfill your needs.
Self-help hypnotherapy CD’s vary according to the skill of the practitioner both professionally and technically. Our professional state of the art sessions have been lovingly crafted and rigorously tested and refined to be an extremely effective and positive experience.
We use the latest technology and therapeutic techniques, which are spoken with a soothing English voice on a background of carefully chosen relaxation music, that is very relaxing and enjoyable to listen to.

Will you make me cluck like a chicken, like people on the stage shows… No. We only provide Professional Hypnotherapy and not stage hypnosis. Hypnosis on stage is an illusion of control.
The people are mostly inebriated extroverts, that know what is expected from such shows. They therefore comply with the hypnotists instructions while either hypnotized or not, (social compliance).
Hypnotherapy owes a lot of gratitude to the stage hypnotist for their fast innovative inductions, however the stage show has also damaged the reputation of clinical hypnosis through association. One is entertainment and the other is a professional medically recognized healing modality.
what is post hypnotic suggestion…
Suggestions that are wanted and accepted by the subconscious mind and later acted upon, when no longer in hypnosis
Can you hypnotize animals… No. They have no ability to concentrate and have no in-depth concept of language.
Will my results from hypnosis be long lasting… Yes. Once accepted by the conscious mind, the results can be permanent, however social pressures can sometimes result in old negative behaviours being re-learned over time. In such circumstances another session of hypnosis will help to resolve the issue.
How do I know that the hypnosis is working… you will notice a reduction or elimination of old unwanted/issues/behaviour. This can be instantaneous or over time (post hypnotic suggestion)
