EFT ( emotional freedom technique) therapy involves the tapping of specific acupoints on the meridians of the body, while thinking about your presenting problem. You then repeat a phrase that identifies the issue, while you or the therapist taps the EFT sequence. If there is no shift, the process is constantly assessed via the SUD LEVEL and repeated until the negative charge is greatly reduced or eliminated.
Some times the presenting issue requires an extra technique, that is part of the process, called the GAMUT. This is used where if you become stuck and limited progress is experienced, during the session. This is quite normal and this part of the EFT technique is used to uncover the blocks to emotional freedom.
In order to remove an issue completely the therapist needs to find all the ‘ASPECTS’ relating to the issue. That is, all the parts of the problem. An example for a phobia of spiders would be, that they crawl or are hairy etc. These are aspects that need to be tapped also.
